FAQ's
- What language are the courses taught in?
Our Thai classes are taught in English and our programs are written in Thai and
English with phonetic examples included.
- What qualification do the teachers have?
All teachers at Mind Your Language Centres have either many years of experience
in teaching Thai to foreigners or have a university degree in teaching Thai to foreigners./li>
- How many times a week do I need to study?
Our group classes run for 2 hours a day, five days a week over a three week period.
Classroom hours are from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. However, we also offer classes three times a week but do
not recommend less than three days per week.
- Will I need to do homework?
There is no mandatory homework assigned but we encourage students to use what
they have learned in the classroom in their everyday activities.
- What happens if I need to cancel or miss a lesson?
We require 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a lesson so that we are able to reschedule.
A no show will result in the lesson being marked as missed and deducted from your course.
- What happens if I need to cancel my course?
If you need to cancel your course we need at least 7 days notice prior to the start of your course
to apply your deposit to a future course. A future course must be scheduled within 60 days of the
start of your cancelled course.
- How far in advance do I need to book?
You can book as far ahead as you like. Please email us with your arrival dates and we will advise
you of the next course start dates.
- Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, we require you to pay a 30% non refundable deposit and to complete an enrollment form at
the time of booking. Full payment is due on day one of the course. Deposits are valid for
60 days - courses must be confirmed & full payment received within this period.
- Can I pay online?
We are currently setting up a online payment system and this option will be available in Mai 2008.
- Do I need to do any preparation for the course?
It is a good idea to buy a Thai - English dictionary and to familiarize yourself with the vocabulary.
We recommend you buy the Benjawan Poomsen Becker dictionary as our experience has been that it is very
informative and is similar to our teachings of phonetics.
- What do I need to bring on the first day?
Please bring along a pen and notebook. For registration please bring a photocopy of your passport
& visa and 2 passport photos.
- Is there internet access at the centres?
We have free WLAN access at both the Chaweng and Ban Tai Centres.
- Where can I find accommodations and how much does it cost to stay on Samui?
Once you register we are able to help you find accommodations on Samui.
There is a lot to choose from for all budgets.
